Reborn! has become one of the best-selling Weekly Shōnen Jump manga with several of its volumes becoming top-sellers in Japan.

The Reborn! story revolves around a boy named Tsunayoshi "Tsuna" Sawada, who is chosen to become the Vongola Family's boss due to him being the great-great-great-great grandson of the first Vongola boss, who had moved to Japan from Italy during his time. He is told by Reborn that he will become the tenth (Italian decimo) Vongola boss. Also, the other candidates for the position of the head of the Vongola Family have died. For these reasons, Tsuna is the only remaining heir.

The current Vongola boss (Timoteo a.k.a. "Vongola IX",) thus sends his most trusted member, the titular character and infant hitman, Reborn, to train the future boss. Tsuna then unwillingly undergoes training from Reborn. Reborn's main method of teaching Tsuna is the "Dying Will Bullet", which will make the person be "reborn" with a stronger self intent on fulfilling his dying will. Through his experiences, the initially clumsy and underachieving Tsuna unconsciously becomes stronger and more confident, which ultimately makes him better suited as the Vongola Family's boss despite continuing to reject his Mafia inheritance. Tsuna gradually becomes a more confident person and leader, while Reborn slowly recruits members into Tsuna's own Mafia family, which mostly includes Tsuna's schoolmates. Tsuna goes through many predicaments in his progress of becoming the Vongola boss including fighting against escaped Mafia convicts posing as Kokuyo Junior High students. Though they encounter new allies in the form of other hitmen and mafiosi, they also attract attention from those who want to annihilate the future boss of the Vongola Family.

The Varia, Vongola assassin squad, claim the right for their boss, Xanxus to be the true Vongola boss, and start a competition to decide it. To defeat the Varia, Reborn recruits most of Tsuna's schoolmates to become the Vongola guardians: Hayato Gokudera, a dynamite expert who wishes to be his right-hand man, Takeshi Yamamoto, a baseball player who thinks the Mafia is a game, Ryohei Sasagawa, the energetic captain of the school boxing club, and Kyoya Hibari, the deadly head prefect. Lambo, a weak infant assassin who came to kill Reborn, and Chrome Dokuro, a girl who has a mental and physical link with the criminal Mukuro Rokudo, joins them as well.

When the story later shifts into an alternate future, nine years and ten months later, in which some of the characters are transported into, they have to adapt to a world where every Vongola member, as well as their allies, is being hunted down by a powerful rival family of that era, the Millefiore. They also find that all the Arcobaleno are dead except for Reborn from the past. As Tsuna and the Vongola Guardians from his time fight the Millefiore they learn that Shoichi Irie, a comrade of Tsuna's future self, was the one who sent them to the future as the future Tsuna said they were the only ones who can defeat the Millefiore leader Byakuran. It is later revealed that Byakuran has gained knowledge from parallel worlds and that he wants to obtain all the Mafia rings in order to obtain a power similar to omniscience.

After defeating Byakuran, Tsuna and company return to the present where they learn that Tsuna is to undergo the inheritance ceremony to officially become the 10th boss of the Vongola Family. However, the ceremony is attacked by the Shimon Family, who have sworn revenge on Vongola Primo for supposedly betraying the first Shimon boss. Using the power of the Shimon rings, they have destroyed the Vongola Rings, left Yamamoto hospitalised and kidnapped Chrome. However, a man named Talbot reconstructs the Vongola Rings into the Vongola Gear, and Tsuna and the remaining guardians go to Shimon's hideout where they must face the Shimon family in battles with their pride on the line. In addition, whoever loses in either side will be taken away by Vindice into prison forever. While the various battles take place it is revealed that Daemon Spade, a member of the first generation Vongola boss's family, is the one who kidnapped Chrome and has a dark agenda in the battle between these rival families.

Reviewers from the series praised its use of comedy as well as the designs used for the infants’ characters. Some attribute the story's humor to the peculiar characters with one reviewer positively describing it is as an insane collection of characters. They also mentioned that though it has become more violent since volume 8, it has turned into a better shōnen series, praising the storylines and the fights.

psychehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06147970371061727771noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6000092116673525901.post-60670829136233726032010-06-23T06:45:00.000-07:002010-06-24T06:11:07.296-07:00Avatar: The Last Airbender
Avatar: The Last Airbender (also known as Avatar: The Legend of Aang) is an American animated television series that aired for three seasons on Nickelodeon and the Nicktoons Network. The series was created and produced by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, who served as executive producers along with Aaron Ehasz. Avatar is set in an Asian-influenced world of Chinese martial arts and elemental manipulation. Fearful of the heavy responsibilities of being the Avatar, coupled with the coming separation from his beloved mentor Monk Gyatso (to complete his training), Aang flees from home on his animal guide, a flying bison called Appa. Caught by a fierce storm, they crash into the ocean, and Aang's protective Avatar State freezes them in a state of suspended animation inside an iceberg. Right after his disappearance, Fire Lord Sozin, realizing that according to the Avatar cycle the next Avatar will come from the Air Nomads, launches a genocidal campaign against the Air Nomads. This way he can ensure that the next Avatar will not try to foil his plots for world domination as the last one of his kind.

Aang becomes unfrozen by a young water-bending girl named Katara, and her older warrior brother, Sokka after being in the iceberg for one hundred years. The three travels to the North Pole so Aang and Katara can learn waterbending. While on their journey, Aang and friends visit the Southern Air Temple, where the new Avatar has a tragic encounter, discovering that the Fire Nation has indeed wiped out every last member of the Air Nomads except for himself, and meets up with the only known remaining "winged lemur" while there, that Aang names "Momo", who joins Aang's group. The trio is constantly being pursued by Prince Zuko, the exiled son of the current Fire Lord Ozai, who can only return to the Fire Nation and reclaim his honor and throne if he captures the Avatar. Aang and friends travel to the Earth Kingdom city of Omashu to master Earthbending. Their initial plan is to learn under Bumi, king of the Earth Kingdom city of Omashu, but they discover that he and Omashu have been captured by the Fire Nation and Bumi is waiting for the right time to strike. Searching for a new Earthbending teacher, the group meets Toph, a blind Earthbending prodigy who becomes Aang's second teacher and teaches him, amongst other things, her unique ability to use earthbending to "see" vibrations with her feet. Azula, Zuko's sister, and her two friends Mai and Ty Lee chase the group as they struggle to reach Ba Sing Se, the Earth Kingdom capital. By capturing and then impersonating the Kyoshi Warriors, Azula engineers a plan to manipulate a secret group of earthbenders called the Dai Li to instigate a coup d'état that allows the Fire Nation to take complete control over Ba Sing Se and deal a fatal defeat to the Earth Kingdom, and destroys any hope of the Earth Kingdom staging a large-scale invasion of the Fire Nation. After a brief period of reformation, Zuko again rejoins the Fire Nation when he helps Azula defeat Aang. As a reward, his exile is ended and he is allowed to return back to the Fire nation as a re-instated prince.

In the season finale, while captured by bounty hunters sent by the Bei Fong family to return Toph to her home, the "Blind Bandit" uses her earthbending skills to "see" the particles of refined earth that make metal and becomes the world's first "metal bender," a feat previously thought to be impossible.

Season Three (Book Three: Fire)

Ba Sing Se has fallen, and Aang is critically injured. However, instead of the Earth Kingdom army and navy, the invasion will be staged by a ragtag group of benders and warriors who became allies of the Avatar along his journeys in Books 1 and 2. Aang and his group then infiltrate the Fire Nation and travel to the rendezvous point for the invasion force. Also, Aang starts to have nightmares about meeting the firelord.

The invasion proceeds as planned with the group defeating much of the defenses and capturing the area around the palace, but Aang finds that the palace had been evacuated beforehand and the fire nation had foreknowledge of the invasion; the royal family has taken refuge in a nearby bunker under a volcano and prepared an air fleet in a surprise counter-maneuver. Aang never finds Firelord Ozai, but Zuko does, and uses the eclipse as his chance to confront his father and proclaim his decision to join the Avatar. As the group realizes they have failed in their main objective, they abandon the captured Fire Nation capital and make a desperate effort to reach their ships to escape. He and Sokka also plan an infiltration of Boiling Rock, a high-security Fire Nation prison surrounded by the boiling water within a volcanic caldera, where high ranking prisoners of war are kept. They find Sokka's father and Suki, the leader of the Kyoshi Warriors and Sokka's former love interest, but Zuko is quickly discovered and Azula comes to question him, accompanied by Mai and Ty Lee. In his confusion, he is drawn to a mysterious island and meditates on other ways to defeat Ozai by calling on the spirits of other past Avatars for advice. Each Avatar advises him to destroy Ozai, and Aang is reluctantly resigned to killing him until he discovers that the island that he and Momo are on is really an ancient, giant, wise "lion-turtle." While Aang and Momo are still missing from their own trip to the "mysterious island", Aang's friends set off to face Ozai, Azula (soon to be crowned the new Fire Lord), and the entire Fire Nation army. Zuko and Katara go to face Azula just moments before her coronation, so that he can usurp the throne in her stead; Sokka, Suki and Toph sabotage the air fleet; and the Order of the White Lotus fights to reclaim Ba Sing Se from the Fire Nation. Aang returns just in time to take on Phoenix King Ozai. Finally reclaiming his ability to enter the Avatar State, Aang almost kills Ozai before restraining himself and instead calls upon the lost art of Energybending to remove Ozai's bending abilities altogether. Prisoners has to go through the “Lamination” process where they will wear the cybernetic laminated skin-tight suits and then they can move around the place and do slavery job that cannot be done by machine or robots. The laminated prisoners are called LaMBs. One of the LaMBs is Eve (voice by Medicorp DJ, Petrina Kow), an ex-weapon specialist who has accidentally taken innocent lives while doing her military operation job.

The story of LaMB centers around the life of the protagonist Sara Integra known as (Eve1135) Eve, who can barely speak nor make her own decisions – she being one of the many felons sealed in a "laminated" suit. The virtual slavery that is Lamination ensures that those convicted of serious crimes remain productive, if not free, members of society, making both jails and the death penalty unnecessary in a world where human ingenuity, creativity and labor continue to be precious commodities that cannot be replaced by robots or any form of “artificial” intelligence. Eve was charged with manslaughter and then sentenced to 200 years in the virtual imprisonment behind the laminated suit. It is a fate that Eve met with Dr . Jack Griswold (voice by Vanness Wu, a JVKV or F4 member), a scientist specializing in advanced botanical engineering from another planet who is such a workaholic in order to forget the tragic loss of his dead wife.

Dr. Jack Griswold is another protagonist in the story. Inadvertedly, Jack gets pulled into the politics behind the system of "Lamination", and a romance with Eve.

psychehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06147970371061727771noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6000092116673525901.post-41033757530905403102010-05-29T23:18:00.000-07:002010-05-30T00:25:23.438-07:00Pumpkin Scissors
Pumpkin Scissors is a manga created and authored by Ryoutarou Iwanaga. An anime adaptation of Pumpkin Scissors has been released, produced by Gonzo and AIC, which began airing on October 2, 2006 across several Japanese televisions stations and ended with the 24th episode on March 19, 2007.

The main female protagonist in the story is 2nd Lieutenant Alice L. Malvin, she is the second in command and field leader of the Pumpkin Scissors. An inexperienced soldier of noble origin who graduated in the academy just before the ceasefire (the ceasefire was announced literally in the middle of the graduation ceremony for the class of officers she was in at military academy); Alice's hot-tempered and reckless demeanor tends to sometimes put her and her subordinates in danger. She has a strong sense of duty and justice and tries to live up to her family's military traditions, contrary to her father and sisters' belief that she must assume a more feminine behavior. While she is the current heir to her family, she will likely lose this position once her younger brother comes of age.

Corporal Randel Oland is the main male protagonist. He is a retired soldier who joined the Pumpkin Scissors to aid in their war relief effort. He was part of the secret 901 anti-tank-trooper unit, which basically consisted of foot soldiers trained to take down enemy tanks by them. This unit, known also as the "Gespenster Jäger" (German for "Ghost Hunter") was part of the "Invisible 9". They are specially trained to ignore pain and fear in order to engage tanks and armored vehicles at point blank range. While the division was secret, all tank crews were warned to be wary of soldiers carrying a blue lantern. Despite his impressive stature (well over six feet tall), and a body riddled with scars, Randel's nature most of the time is kindhearted and ingenuous. But when he is in trouble he turns on his blue-steel lantern marked "901-ATT", and he becomes a fearless and vicious combatant. He is capable of defeating even heavily-armored foes with his 13 mm anti-tank gun, known as the "door knocker" (highly reminiscent of a Thompson Contender pistol).

Due to his reckless style of combat, Randel is frequently hospitalized during the series. These hospital stays lead to a running gag about the size of the corporal's penis, and the inability of the hospital staff to get a urine container that will not break.

In the story you will encounter a lot of interesting characters that will make the story much more colorful. Now that the main characters are being introduced, here comes the synopsis.

Set in a region strongly resembling Western Europe, in which a catastrophic war has just ended similar to that of the two world wars that occurred in the early parts of the 20th Century, the Royal Empire and the Republic of Frost have declared a ceasefire to end the war indefinitely. The Empire is plagued by starvation, and pestilence, with former soldiers turning to thievery, banditry and others forms of crime, forming into gangs to survive the post-war period. To aid the people of the Empire in the war relief effort, the Imperial Army State Section III, also known as the Pumpkin Scissors unit, is established.

The name for the group was an idea from one of its officers, the 2nd Lieutenant Alice L. Malvin, according to her, in their war relief effort they must "face the threat of corrupt people who protect themselves behind lies, power, and money like the rind of a pumpkin", and Section III must act like a pair of scissors cutting through those layers and delivering justice for the people. This is a constant message which ripples throughout the series. The units are, however, berated constantly, considered propaganda tools used by the government, and are seen as an insult to the war relief effort by many within the army as well, as the Empire's citizens. Randel Oland, a veteran soldier with a mysterious past, joins their ranks and steadily the Pumpkin Scissors unit begins to be taken more seriously as the anime's plotline begins to unravel.

The anime series of Pumpkin Scissors is good and interesting, the animation is mostly decent, but noticeably fluctuates. For an action series, I wouldn’t say the action sequences are that great: many of the important fights are battles of attrition, which can become rather dull at times. The fights involving Oland are more interesting and generally over quicker, but they follow an obvious formula: blue light comes on – Oland takes out his Doorknocker – trash gets taken out.

Just watch it and have some comment here.

psychehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06147970371061727771noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6000092116673525901.post-91690980414384345712010-04-13T05:49:00.000-07:002010-06-12T20:00:32.795-07:00Hana Yori Dango
The story revolves with Tsukushi Makino, a working-class girl and the F4 (flower four), the most popular and rich children of the Eitoku Academy.

The F4 leader and son of the wealthiest, most powerful family in Japan, Domyouji Tsukasa, takes an interest in Tsukushi, because she is the only girl at Eitoku who does not fawn over him. They both usually have at least one girlfriend at any one time; Akira prefers older women because the women of his household (his mother and two younger sisters) are quite silly. Sojiro is happy to be in casual relationships with many women, although we later discover that at one time he was in love with a childhood friend.
Over the course of the series, however, Tsukushi's feelings evolve, and she begins to appreciate the degree of change that occurred in Tsukasa once he fell in love with her. He becomes fiercely loyal to Tsukushi and believes in her beyond all doubt, and slowly gets her to see him in a different light.

This is the best love story I’ve ever seen. The series is a combination of drama, romance and comedy, also a bit of action. The mood can be slow and gentle, or intense and frightening. All characters are interesting and the music is great. The series is much like a teen soap opera. The voice acting is interesting, and the character designs are unusual. The color scheme of HYD is unusual as well. The colors are very muted and soft. There are lots of pale yellows, cream, grays, blue-gray, and browns. I think this lends the series a greater sense of reality. Anyway, if you should come across this series, I highly recommend checking it out.

psychehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06147970371061727771noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6000092116673525901.post-5902893355754294022010-02-17T03:43:00.000-08:002010-02-17T04:28:39.499-08:00Hayate The Combat Butler
Hayate the Combat Butler is about Hayate Ayasaki an unlucky sixteen years old teenager who worked since the age of eight to make ends meet due to his parents' irresponsible behavior. This guy is known only as Third as he is the third in command of Ocher Ring. He acts as a supporter of Thor when he declares that he intends to become the Beast King. This guy is very mysterious and his motive will be revealed at the last few episodes of the story which is using Thor to complete a mission given to him by his commander so that he could go to Earth. He will be very disappointed at the last part when he will discover that Earth had been destroyed 130 years ago. He will commit suicide in order to force Thor into escaping from Hecate.

There are lots of exciting scene in the whole 11 episode so better watched it. There’s lot of twist in the story in Thor’s life. I feel so sorry for Tiz, especially as Thor’s immediate infatuation with Karim was quite rapid and perhaps unintentionally amusing. The whole story is great, there’s so much adventure in it but I feel not so happy with the ending. I think the ending is not complete there’s something missing in it.

psychehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06147970371061727771noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6000092116673525901.post-54893413154955637172009-02-05T04:34:00.001-08:002009-02-05T04:54:00.088-08:00xxxHolic
xxxHolic which can be pronounced as “holic”, but often pronounced phonetically “ex-ex-ex-holic” or “triple x holic”, is a seinen manga series planned and presented by Clamp. Nippon Animation adapted part of the manga series into a twenty-five episode anime series. Yamato Nadeshiko is a common term used in Japan to describe the ideal beautiful woman. The story revolve around Sunako Nakahara, a girl called “ugly” by a boy, who happened to be the first and only person to whom she confessed her love because of this incident, she losses her sparks in life and change for the worst. She became reclusive and generally developed a fear of pretty boys of which she refers to as “dazzling creatures”. She became a lover of solitude, gore movies, anatomical dolls and objects that reflect the ugly side of life as she puts it. Sunako’s aunt who has a big concern to her and was the owner of a beautiful mansion ion where four very handsome students live, offers the guys free rent if they can transform niece, Sunako, into a “perfect lady” but if they fail, the rent goes triple. Due to these handsome boys confidence in knowing how to deal with women, they agree.

Before anything else I would like to introduce these four handsome guys. Kyouhei Takano, the most popular of the foursome. He is very loud and bossy when it comes to his needs. He was forced to leave home because all of the mobbing and harassment by his fans were taking a toll on his family. As the story goes he will have unsorted feelings for Sunako which he demonstrates by constantly provoking her rage. Next is Takenaga Oda comes from a very wealthy family and is quite serious in nature. He is the brain and logic of the group often trying out logical strategies to make Sunako become a lady. He has a love interest in “Noi” Kasahara, but his shyness gets in the way when he wants to express his feelings. Another is Yukinojo “Yuki” Toyama, he is shy but sweet and has a very loving nature. He is the most innocent of all the characters, often crying and becoming scared when he enters Sunako’s room. Last but not the least is Ranmaru Morii, the playboy of the group. Ranmaru comes from a wealthy family and is an only son. He is very extroverted and a lover of older women. He has a very sexy nature and extremely high self esteem.

Now that you know these four lovely men let’s back to the story. When the guys first meet Sunako, they begin to realize that their lovely living arrangements may soon be in jeopardy. Although the four are able to make Sunako physically attractive the difficult part is with her personality. Sunako has no intention in changing her tastes, her love for all things macabre (gruesome and horrifying content) is a difficult challenge that the boys must face. Eventually, Sunako will develop an especially mixed feelings about Kyouhei, and as the storyline progresses, their relationship becomes more solid and intimate. There’s a lot of adventure and funny moment in the story that the boys faced just to encourage Sunako to change but still they failed. The boys managed to convince Sunako’s aunt that her niece is indeed a lady befitting the mansion in which they live (and prevent the rent from skyrocketing to triple the required amount). However, in reality, Sunako has not changed considerably. In the last part of it you will see Sunako change her physical appearance in to a lovely lady and that is so exciting.

The story is a combination of comedy, drama and romance which can catch viewer’s different taste. It is composed of handsome boys, which I can say that this was made intended for male audiences. The series deals with the extravagant life of a group of bishounen characters who cause nose bleeds to girls where ever they go. It’s a shojo series with lots of sparkles and flowers that can be enjoyed by guys just as much as girls. The most interesting part is mixture of horror and comedy in the plot, it’s like Sadako meets the F4. The series is full of comical moments that will keep you laughing throughout the series, there are some jokes that require some knowledge of Japanese anime but I’m sure most of you will understand it. Hence it gives moral value and touching stories each episode despite its weird concept.

psychehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06147970371061727771noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6000092116673525901.post-31230148849873208932008-07-31T02:24:00.000-07:002011-04-08T22:35:36.917-07:00GetBackers
GetBackers is a manga series written by Yuya Aoki and illustrated by Rando Ayamine. The manga was adapted into an animated television series in 2002. The series tells the story of Ginji Amano and Ban Mido, a pair of super powered individuals known as the GetBackers. The duo operates a freelance repossession service, their job is to recover any lost or stolen item for a client with an “almost 100% success rate” for certain amount fee. The plot mostly revolves around their adventures, often complicated by the pair's convoluted, individual pasts and a mysterious place known as the Infinity Fortress.

Ban possesses two special powers, the “Snake Bite” (his hands have a gripping power of 200kg) and the “Evil Eye” (anyone who looks into his eyes will be locked into a powerful and nightmarish hallucination). Ginji, on the other hand, has the ability to generate thousands of volts of electricity from his body. He was once the fearsome “Lightning Emperor” and the leader of a gang called The VOLTS in the Infinity Fortress. Even more ironic is that with the GetBacker’s money luck, they often end up getting no pay for any of Hevn’s dangerous jobs. And Natsumi, she was the GetBacker’s first client in the series and because of that Paul was introduced. He is the owner of the Honky Tonk, which is where the GetBackers often loiter and build up their tab. These people share good bonding to Ban and Ginji in their adventures and fights. Also adds happiness and excitement in the story.

Ban and Ginji claim a 100 percent success rate in returning lost or stolen property to its original owner. Their claims are put to the test in the series' first five episodes, as a high-school girl hires them to reclaim her precious handmade stuffed cat; a homeless man requests they rescue his daughter, who’s fallen into yakuza hands; and a wealthy businessman sends them to retrieve a stolen strongbox. The story became more intense when they encounter and fight against some equally talented freelance “transporters” who have been hired to defend the lockbox from the likes of Ginji and Ban. Among their enemies are “Dr. Jackal”, a quick-moving sadist who can manifest razor-sharp weapons out of his bare hands, and “Lady Poison”, a girl with phenomenal chemical weapons and a secret connection with Ban.

Then the next episode would then mainly revolve around the Mugenjou (Infinite Castle) and the battles that Ginji and Ban went through inside it, trying to solve its puzzle and mystery while at the same time saving the friends Ginji had there. A lot of philosophy about existence would surface later.

GetBackers is a lively, colorful series, with a lot of intense, graphic action and nicely animated motion, but the clear sense is that Ginji and Ban are both deeply tragic figures with a great deal of history. Ginji was once a feared gang leader, which leads to oblique flashbacks in which shadowy figures describe him as an “invincible being” and “the emperor of this limitless fortress”. Ban’s connection to Lady Poison, aka Himiko, spawned a complicated grudge that seems to stem from an even more complicated promise. Even the first meeting between Ginji and Ban is briefly hinted at in an explosive-looking scene that sets the stage for intense drama to come.

This anime is a composition of action, drama, romance and comedy. Also it shows good moral value and the importance of friendship. The story has lots of twist and turn that add to its spice.

psychehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06147970371061727771noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6000092116673525901.post-77445034297748751172008-04-20T00:46:00.000-07:002008-12-13T01:54:10.569-08:00Death Note
Death Note (Desu Nōto?) is a Japanese manga series created by writer Tsugumi Ohba and illustrator Takeshi Obata. Light realizes that L will be his greatest nemesis, and a game of psychological cat and mouse between the two begins.

Light's father, Soichiro Yagami is a police officer who was assigned to lead the Kira investigation team. He becomes disappointed with the lack of police cooperation in Kira's case, eventually he join forces with L to form a special investigative team. After a test that L set-up, he suspected that Light is the one who called Kira. Soichiro didn't believe in it but he still insist to remain helpful in the team. To investigate Light further, L needs to reveal himself. The battle between Light and L became very intense. Lots of twist and turn happened between the two.

As the investigation goes by, a second Kira appears, Misa Amane. She is a girl with an immense crush on Kira, Misa is a popular idol in Japan. She is immature and tends to refer to herself in the third person in an attempt to be cute. Misa is completely devoted to Light, and she once said that she loved him at first sight. Light, however, only views her as an asset to his plans because of her Death Note and her Shinigami eyes (that she obtained at the cost of half of her remaining life span, twice). Misa devotes herself to Light because he killed her parents' murderer after several trials had failed to convict him. She also has same story with Light in having the notebook. It was fallen in her from nowhere, but obviously it was given by Shinigami. Rem is the Shinigami whose own Misa's Death Note. Similar to Ryuk, Rem possesses two Death Notes. However, she purposely gives one of them to Misa Amane. Rem inherited her second Death Note from Jealous, another shinigami who died when he saved Misa's life, and thought it only right to pass it on to Misa. Rem inherits Jealous' love for Misa as well and is prompt to defend Misa even at the cost of her life. Rem shows this when she states that she will kill Light if Misa dies before her time.

As there were two Kira now L lead to confusion a bit of time but manage because of his genius mind. He found out that Misa is the second Kira and tried to prove it. He ordered kidnapped Misa and tortured it to tell the truth. But with Light brilliant mind L fall in his trap. L knows that he will die in the game that's why he choose someone who will inherit his position. The two kids from the orphanage named Near and Mello became the candidate for L's successor. When L die because Light put a trap to Rem to kill L, the kids take over in the investigating team.

Mello was an orphan who grew up with Near in Watari's shelter for gifted children. Similar to L's fondness for sweets, he is often seen eating bars of chocolate. Although Mello is quite intelligent, he often lets his emotions get the better of him. Mello wears leather most of the time, unlike Near or L. He also appears to be less secluded in terms of his friends and hobbies, and seems to be fond of biking. While Near was a primary candidate to become L's successor and calls himself N during the course of his investigations. He shares a number of similarities with L. Much like how L plays with things such as sugar cubes and forks, Near is frequently shown playing with toys or his hair. Near also sits in an unusual manner similar to L, but with some slight differences. He offered to join forces with Mello to fight Kira, but Mello turned him down. Near then gained the support of the Government of the United States and formed the Secret Provision for Kira (SPK).

As the story meets its finale, Light falls in Near hands. The anime's opening theme is "Cheer!~Makka na kimochi~" performed by Kanako Sakai, written by Hiiro Misaki, and composed and arranged by Kōhei Koyama. The anime's ending theme is "Devotion" performed by BRACE;d, and written, composed, and arranged by a.k.a.dRESS.

This is the love story about a common man and a girl who has a dream to be a voice actress. The story begun with Fumihiko Matsumaru, an average salary man with no girlfriend, he is outside the movie theater waiting for his invited colleague Miss Tanaka to arrive. Suddenly his date didn't arrive and he crumples his movie tickets in frustration. As he is about to toss the tickets into a trash can, a girl approaches, and in the "voice" of the tickets, implores him to not waste them. It convinced him to used it and they watched the movie together which is Roman Holiday and take a dinner. During the movie, he notices that the girl is reading the subtitles out loud and at the dinner he find out that the girl is twenty-year-old aspiring seiyū, her name is Aka Onda.

After that Matsumaru escorted Aka going home and found they live in the same neighborhood. Matsumaru goes to bed, but he can't sleep. In the darkness, he hears the sounds of sirens; there is a fire in the neighborhood. When he goes to investigate, he discovers that the girl's apartment has burned down. Having nowhere else to stay, Aka moved to Matsumaru's place, and the two had started a "more than friend but not yet lovers" relationship under the same roof while keeping this secret from their employers. After a day that Aka's apartment burn, Matsumaru's proposal about the marketing concept "Nekoki" as the mascot of the snack product called "Ha" was approved. This is a big success for him and they conduct an audition for the voice of that mascot. Furthermore, Aka is chosen to voice Nekoki. They decide to keep their live-in relationship a secret from their employers due to Aka's worries about an appearance of impropriety. She also insists they are not a couple just from having slept together once in a moment of weakness, and that she will merely be lodging with him. The series is heavily concerned with the developing dynamic of their relationship.

As the story goes, there's a lot of trials in the relationship of the two. One of those is when the second proposal which is the sequence of the concept "Nekoki" for new flavor came. Matsumaru's proposal disapproved and the project goes to his co-employee. While Aka's career became brighter and brighter, she got a lot of offer and became popular. This situation gives a strong impact to Matsumaru. He felt useless being disappointed in his job and to Aka as well. However, Aka manage everything and made a right choice in life by choosing the man he really love.

This anime caught my interest in the way how aggressive the character is. I didn't expect that Matsumaru and Aka is both pervert by sleeping together in one night even though they didn't know each other a lot. That seems stupid but it happens in reality somehow. I think what happen to them is a so called "one night stand", the only different is their relationship continue as a friend and further develop as a lover lately. The story is based more on real life than fantasy. I'm also fascinated on how the character was made Aka is absolutely gorgeous, sexy and hot. One thing that I learn in this anime, "that love sometimes came from nowhere and suddenly will hit your heart and will make you crazy".

Here are some of my favorite scene in the anime:

psychehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06147970371061727771noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6000092116673525901.post-91200398053220471372007-12-13T13:16:00.000-08:002008-12-13T01:54:13.670-08:00Eyeshield 21
Eyeshield 21 is a manga about American football written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Yusuke Murata. His only remarkable physical abilities are his running speed and dodging techniques, the result of a school life spent complying with the demands of bullies, quickly catch the eye of the high school's American football team captain Yoichi Hiruma, the most feared person in his school. Sena life changes when Hiruma forces him to join the Football Team as the running back. To protect his identity (on the premise that other school sports teams will try to recruit Sena upon discovering his athletic skill) Sena is forced to publicly assume the role of team secretary, and enter the field wearing a helmet equipped with a green-tinted eyeshield in order to hide his features under the pseudonym of "Eyeshield 21".

Actually the Deimon Devil Bats have a two good player before Sena comes along these two are Ryokan, and Yoichi. Ryokan is a friendly guy who's big, strong and has an infectious enthusiasm for American football. Then there's Yoichi, the devious, scheming quarterback whose skills on the gridiron and knowledge of football strategy is sometimes overshadowed by his fondness for shooting off powerful weapons to convince others to see things his way. Although both Ryokan and Yoichi are talented players, the Deimon Devil Bats are a woefully understaffed team, with only two full-timers and a ragtag bunch of miscellaneous athletes that Yoichi manages to blackmail to convince to play on their team on game day. Other teams write them off as disorganized losers who'll never get their act together enough to win. Now that they have Sena on their side, the Devil Bats finally have a chance to win (if they can ever teach him how to play the game).

The team initially takes part in the Spring football tournament (at the beginning of the Japanese school year) hoping to win with through the strength of their new "secret weapon". But the elimination is quit tough that the weak team early eliminated on by the Ojo White Knights, a powerhouse football team. It is in this game that Sena meets the man he will acknowledge as his ultimate rival, Seijuro Shin, a talented linebacker.

After Deimon's defeat, the Spring tournament is revealed as a secondary in importance to the Fall tournament, where the teams compete for the chance to play in the "Christmas Bowl", the high school football league championship. Hiruma, Kurita and Sena regroup and slowly build a real team from other misfits and students looking to define themselves, with the goal of reaching the championship. It is because Wolfram get angry that Yuuri has been chosen as the Maou so he makes the mistake of insulting Yuuri's mother which earns him a slap. Unfortunately there is a noble rule of a Mazoku propose a marriage, it is by slapping another noble on his/her left cheek. Actually the slap was considered as unmanly but it is explained that Yuuri slapped Wolfram because he has a beautiful face, otherwise he would have punched him. Incensed by this insult, Wolfram challenges Yuuri to a duel, which is also mistakenly accepted because of Yuuri's unfamiliarity with Mazoku custom (he picked up the knife that fell off the table). During the duel Yuuri transforms into the true Demon King for the first time, proving that he has a right to the throne. Throughout the story, Yuuri gets dragged between the two worlds at inconvenient times. He also constantly confronted with the results of even the smallest choices he makes.

The series is predominantly made up of good-looking young men which lead to an assumption of being a shōjo (anime and manga written for a female audience). The series is often mistaken for such boys love because of its calm acceptance of homosexuality in the setting such as an early plot point that ends with two male characters becoming engaged, accurately the series can be called a “male harem”. Romance is not a main theme of the series, though it has a flourishing fan-community dedicated to various romantic pairings. As the series goes it reveals that it is more about justice and friendship.

psychehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06147970371061727771noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6000092116673525901.post-80048921979363813792007-11-21T11:28:00.000-08:002008-12-13T01:54:17.212-08:00Inuyasha: The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass
InuYasha: The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass is the second movie of the InuYasha movie series. In this film, the character designs are virtually identical to the Rumiko Takahashi versions, from the original manga (rather than using the Yoshihito Hishinuma designs, from the TV anime).

The film begins with the battle between Inuyasha and Naraku, Inuyasha's biggest enemy. Together with his colleague, they finally defeat Naraku. There is a doubt whether Naraku is truly dead, however the disappearance of Miroku's Wind Tunnel and the return of Kohaku's memories are the proof that Naraku has finally been laid to rest, also Kagura's heart is in her body again. So the gang turns their efforts to their individual concerns and try to go back to normal lives. Kagome briefly returns to her time period to catch up in school and happens to be learning about the legend of Princess Kaguya. She was a maiden from the moon, found by a bamboo cutter in the forest. However, long ago Kaguya was sealed away in a mirror that seems similar to Kanna. Meanwhile, Kagura and Kanna, the two surviving incarnations of Naraku, are somewhat restless now that Naraku is dead. They come across a mirror in a hidden shrine and awaken a Celestial Maiden Kaguya, Princess of the Heavens. In exchange for freeing her, Kaguya promises to give Kagura her true heart's desire, freedom. To set the maiden free they must gather five items and drop them into the five lakes of Fuji. So Kagura and Kanna set out to recover five items that will free Kaguya from her mirror completely. The five items are the Jeweled Sprig, Crystal from the Dragon's neck, the Cloth of the Fire Rat which a half-demon wear (Inuyasha’s robe), Swallows Cowrie Shell and Stone Bowl of Buddha.

Sango returned to her village to search for his brother. Kohaku has returned to Sango's village without any memory as to who he is. He is a clumsy, naive but very sweet young man. He was first seen wandering through the woods as he stumbles upon Kagome, Sango, and Shippo at a hot spring. When Shippo finds out later, however, this information is used against him. He is the keeper of a celestial robe which his family has commanded him to cast into Mount Fuji, lest it fall into a demon's hands. He joins Inuyasha's group, partly because he has a bit of a crush on Kagome and partly because he is being blackmailed by Shippo for an earlier incident.

Kagura and Kanna find already find the Jeweled Sprig and Crystal from the Dragon's neck and drop it in the lake. One of the remaining item is the Cloth of the Fire Rat which was the rob of Inuyasha. When Kagome returns to InuYasha's time and the two of them, along with Shippō, go to find the remaining shards of the jewel. They get along and fight with Kagura because this evil woman wants the robe and she successfully got it. The Swallows Cowrie Shell was in the hand of Kohaku, so Kagura takes fight to him and also to Sango to get the item. Last the Stone Bowl of Buddha was in Kikyo's hand but she surrender it to Kagura without any fight and her intension was undetermined.

Kaguya finally freed from the mirror and she manage to steal the Celestial Robe to Akitoki because this will make her immortal and in order to rule the world. Along the fight in stealing the Celestial Robe, Kagome ends up getting kidnapped with the robe. To save Kagome, Inuyasha need to go to the castle of Kagura. InuYasha meets up with Miroku and Sango again and they prepare to rescue Kagome and stop Kaguya. Kaguya, whose power has increased exponentially now that she has the hagoromo, prepares to freeze time into eternal night. Kaguya tries to turn InuYasha into a full demon but his voice woke Kagome up and she attempts to stop the transformation by hugging him, saying “I love you as a half demon, InuYasha!” and by kissing him. It was the kiss that made Kaguya's mirror cracks and returning InuYasha to his half demon form. As they battle Naraku reappears revealing that he had purposely faked his death in order to absorb Kaguya. Inuyasha manage to kill Kaguya's physical form by using his backlash wave, but it end up in the form of black cloud and attempts to absorb Kagome to gain new body. In the end she is killed by Miroku's Wind Tunnel attack. Akitoki finally throws Kaguya's hagoromo into a volcano to stop any other beings from ever using its power. However Naraku still alive and escape along with Kohaku which again back to Naraku's side because of the curse.

The movie has good twist and I really like the fact that Kagome and Inuyasha get a lot closer than ever before, I also like the bonding of Sango and Miroku too. And Shippō still manage his comedy aura that makes the story more colorful. I find out that the main essence of the movie is no other than the most powerful force in the world, “LOVE”. Although the story has no definite ending it is still very well recommended and I will not regret to watch it over and over again.
psychehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06147970371061727771noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6000092116673525901.post-71012117253034039352007-10-24T10:24:00.000-07:002008-12-13T01:54:18.095-08:00Pet Shop of Horrors

Pet Shop of Horrors is a Japanese horror manga created by Matsuri Akino. Shirō Emiya is a serious helpful, hardworking and honest teenager. He was adopted by Kiritsugu Emiya after his parent died ten years ago in a massive inferno that incinerated them. Shirō made a good bond to his poster father Kiritsugu. When he discover that his poster father is a magi, he dream to be a “Hero of Justice”, a guardian of mankind who could protect the weak and innocent. When Kiritsugu died Shirō became prostrated with his progress in sorcery.

Unknown to Shirō, Fuyuki city is the setting for a second and violent war among competing magi. For the past two centuries, seven sorcerers better known as masters, aided by their spiritual familiars known as servants, assemble and engage in a battle royal. These seven sorcerers gambled their life only to obtain the Holy Grail. A Holy Grail is a legendary chalice capable of granting wishes. Servant are the reincarnations of legendary souls from all across time. These epic spirits possess superhuman characteristics and wield or abilities called Noble Phantasm. A Noble Phantasm hidden abilities may be released by invoking its true name, but casual brandishing of it is best avoided, for symbolic Noble Phantasms usually belie a Servant's identity, diminishing that Servant's competitive advantage. Only one Servant can be summoned in each war from one of seven classes: Saber, Archer, Lancer, Berserker, Rider, Assassin, and Caster.

psychehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06147970371061727771noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6000092116673525901.post-17628609608462423032007-10-15T14:57:00.000-07:002008-12-13T01:54:18.928-08:00Tactics
Tactics follows the exploits of the young man with the ability to see goblins and other mythical beasts named Kantarou Ichinomiya. The mummy of unknown life-form named SAYA is transferred to the Zoo and is later identified as Chiropterans. Extracted from its pregnant belly are two cocoons, which react to drops of human blood. Extracted from the cocoons are two children that are human in appearance, the one is named Saya and raised as a normal human in the Zoo, and the other remains unnamed, is locked up in a tower, and is used by Joel for experimentation purposes. Experimentation on that unknown child presumably continues, with Amshel, a member of a branch family, acting as an aid to Joel. Saya ceases aging and Joel becomes aware of the special properties of her blood. A 12 year old boy named Haji is introduced to Saya to investigate her reproductive potential. Saya, upon discovery of the unknown child in the tower in 1863 she named it Diva because of its brilliant voice. She told Saya that she wants to go out of that tower, so Saya promised her that she will find a way to let her out. At Joel birthday, Saya releases Diva from the tower to sing at the birthday party.
